Presentation of exhibition “Togliatti. The birth of a new city” at the Embassy of France in the Russian Federation

Within a month (September-October 2014), the State Museum of architecture named after A.V. Schusev hosted the exhibition Togliatti. The birth of a new city by Fabien Bella, the professor of the history of arts and architecture from the University of Paris, the Higher National School of Architecture of Versailles (France).

The exhibition includes more than a hundred of the rarest exhibits found in the archives of Moscow, St-Petersburg and Togliatti, incl. the personal files of the family of the Soviet architects Boris Rubanenko and Boris Brandenburg, who developed the construction designs of the city of Togliatti. The exhibition is also accompanied by the science catalogue book in Russian and French, as well as the documentary on the construction of the city and Volga automotive plant created with use of materials borrowed from the Public Record Office of cinema and photo.

The implementation of this Russian-French project became possible thanks to the support rendered by the Embassy of France in the Russian Federation and the French Institute in Russia.
