The official delegation of the city of Togliatti visited the sister-city of Kazanlak (Bulgaria)

From March 1 to March 5, 2020, the official delegation of Togliatti visited the sister-city of Kazanlak (Bulgaria). The visit was organized according to the invitation of the Mayor of Kazanlak in accordance with the Protocol of cooperation between the cities of Togliatti and Kazanlak for 2020 in order to discuss cooperation plans, and congratulate on the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of friendship between cities and participating in celebrations of the 142 Anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgaria.

On March 2, there was an official meeting in the City Hall of Kazanlak. Mayor Galina Stoyanova emphasized the importance of friendly relations between the city of Togliatti and the city of Kazanlak and invited members of the delegation to become honored guests of the celebrations on the occasion of the national holiday.

The Head of the Togliatti noted that on March 1, 1995, the Agreement on Friendship and Vooperation between the city of Togliatti and the city of Kazanlak was signed, over 25 years of friendship, more than 50 mutual visits and joint events were organized and carried out within the framework of economic, social and cultural and inter-municipal cooperation.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation and voiced proposals for the development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties for the coming period. At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Togliatti gifted presents on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the sister-city relations of Togliatti and Kazanlak.

Together with the leaders of the city of Kazanlak and the delegation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria, the delegation of the city of Togliatti took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Liberation of Balagria, visited the Church of the Nativity of Christ on Shipka and took part in the solemn laying of flowers at the Freedom Monument at Shipka also visited an exposition dedicated to the exploits of Russian soldiers and Bulgarian militias.
