International Friendly Chess Online Tournament was held in technopark "Zhiguli Valley"

On April 10, the Technopark "Zhiguli Valley" hosted the First international friendly online chess tournament with the participation of teams of young chess players form the sister-cities of Togliatti.

Young chess players from four sister-cities and partner-cities of Togliatti: Kazanlak (Bulgaria),Novo Mesto (Slovenia),Volkovysk (Belarus) and Futian district (China) met on one of the online chess platforms. Each team has 6 participants. Togliatti city was represented at the tournament by students of the Togliatti chess school born in 2003 and younger. The youngest participant of the tournament recently turned 6 years old.

The event was organized by the Department of international and interregional relations of the Togliatti city administration and NCO "Togliatti Chess Federation". Representatives of chess associations and municipalities of the sister cities were invited to participate in the Grand opening of the tournament. The broadcast was conducted in Russian and English.

According to the results of the competition, the best player and the best team were determined. The 1st place was taken by the team of the Futian District, Shenzhen, the 2nd place was shared by the teams of Togliatti and Volkovysk.

In the individual competition, the best result among young men was shown by Andrey Trushkov (Togliatti) 4.5 points. The best result among girls is Qian WAN (Futian, Shenzhen) 4 points.
