Athletes from Togliatti were virtual paricipants of the Hexad Wolfsburg Marathon

From 5 to 12 September, the traditional Hexad Wolfsburg Marathon took place in the sister-city of Wolfsburg, which is held for the second time with virtual participants.

Togliatti runners Igor Agishev and Olga Agisheva have taken part in the Wolfsburg Marathon for 6 times in a row. For 4 years they participated in real competitions in the city of Wolfsburg within the exchange of delegations between sister cities. And for two years now they have been taking part in virtual marathons.

At the invitation of partners from the German sister city, the sports veterans received start numbers, arrived at Coastal Park in Togliatti, turned on the special Strava running app on their smartphones, and set off for races on the paved area.

According to the results of the virtual marathon, the members of the Agishev family again became the winner of the Wolfsburg marathon in their age group. Igor Agishev ran 21 km in 1 hour 47 minutes 42 seconds, which eventually brought him second place in the 55-59 age category. Olga became the first in her age category.
