The foreign trade turnover of the Samara region amounted to 4.3 billion dollars

This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara region Dmitry Bogdanov at a meeting with representatives of the Russian Export Center.

This indicator was achieved in the region for 7 months of this year. According to the Volga Customs Administration, it exceeds the same result last year by 26.5%. At the same time, the total volume of exports amounted to $ 2.6 billion, and imports - $ 1.7 billion. The volume of non-primary non-energy exports of the Samara region for the 1st half of 2021 amounted to 1.25 billion US dollars.

The creation of a large range of support tools and conditions for the development of foreign trade activities of small and medium-sized businesses is a task on which, on behalf of the Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov, special attention is focused today. This work is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the national projects Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative and International cooperation and Export.

In terms of total exports, the Samara Region ranks 4th in the Volga Federal District.
This year, the Samara region has shown a serious growth in relation to 2020 in terms of foreign trade turnover and, especially, exports. Our region here has not yet reached pre-pandemic values, but new tools allow us to gradually return to them. At the same time, it is important to note that the needs, logistics, and cooperation chains have changed markedly today, - said Dmitry Bogdanov, Minister of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara Region. - In conditions when the economic trading map of the world is seriously changing, it is necessary to use the new opportunities that open up and protect existing positions. We recently opened a wooden puzzle factory, 90% of whose products are exported to all developed countries. The production of motor boats is developing in Syzran. Half of the total production of this company is supplied abroad, even in the current difficult conditions. We have many examples when entrepreneurs, against the background of changing market needs, changing people's lifestyle, were able to open new niches and confidently enter them.
An Export Support Center has been established in the region for entrepreneurs focused on foreign markets. He provides a whole range of services: from translating presentation materials and bringing them to international industry marketplaces to finding foreign partners and organizing participation in exhibitions. The specialists of the Center accompany potential and existing exporters at the entire stage of the export cycle, up to the conclusion of a contract with foreign buyers.
In 2021, the Regional Ministry of Economic Development organized 22 events with 14 countries. Among them are meetings with Trade representatives of the Russian Federation in foreign countries, the purpose of which is to get explanations about the specifics of exporters entering the markets in the countries of their presence; online presentations of enterprises of the Samara region and their products for foreign partners. 28 enterprises of the Samara region took part in the events.
By the end of 2021, it is planned to organize several more similar events, in which about 50 local companies will be involved.

Work on increasing the foreign trade turnover of the Samara region is being carried out on behalf of the Governor Dmitry Azarov. Comfortable conditions are being created in the region for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, the implementation of investment projects, including export-oriented ones.
