The Samara Region entered the TOP-5 of the national investment rating in terms of infrastructure and resource provision for investors

As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) traditionally presented the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the Russian Federation. In 2023, the Samara Region strengthened itself in the top ten subjects with the best conditions for business and investors, while entering the TOP-5 leading regions in the Infrastructure and Resources direction.

The ASI rating is formed annually together with the country's leading business associations, experts, and entrepreneurs. It evaluates the efforts of the authorities of the country's constituent entities to create favorable conditions for doing business and is calculated according to 67 indicators in 4 areas.

The Infrastructure and Resources block evaluates 4 factors: the quality and availability of infrastructure (road network, telecommunications services, technology parks and special economic zones), the effectiveness of the procedures for setting up a land plot for cadastral registration and the quality of territorial planning, state support measures, the quality and availability of labor resources .

According to these factors, the Samara region has achieved significant results over the past year. High-quality transport and logistics infrastructure: an international airport, three river cargo ports, major railway junctions and federal highways.

Investment sites in the region are among the best in the country. The Togliatti Special Economic Zone, industrial and logistics parks, priority development areas, the Zhigulevskaya Dolina technology park are in demand among investors and occupy a leading position in terms of efficiency. The total investment of residents in 2018-2022 exceeded 89.1 billion rubles, which is 3.7 times more than in the previous 5 years.

In 2022, 25 large investment projects were launched in the Samara Region, 19 of which are in the manufacturing sector. On behalf of the Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov, work is underway to develop infrastructure and platforms for investors.

Planned and large-scale work is underway to attract investors to the region and create comfortable conditions for doing business, which, in turn, allows creating about 10 thousand jobs annually.

Interaction with investors on the principle of "one window" in the region is carried out by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Samara Region. Each investment project receives administrative support in the region. A whole range of regional and federal support measures are in place for businesses in the region. Recall that over the past 5 years, the Samara region has shown impressive dynamics in the ASI investment rating, starting from 65th place.
