The delegation of Samara region participated in the major China Hi-Tech Fair 2013.

Within November 16-21, 2013, a major Hi-Tech Fair-2013 was held in the city of Shenzhen, China.

By invitation of Shenzhen Government, the delegation of Samara region participated in the event activities.

The visit of the delegation aimed at presentation of high-priority investment projects of the region: Hi-Tech park Zhiguli Valley, Special Economic Zone of Togliatti, and innovation project of the city of Togliatti: municipal information system, Open City and Uniform municipal geo-information system, as well as familiarization with the experience of establishment of the special economic hi-tech zones, visits to industrial enterprises, scientific and educational institutions of China.

The visitors and participants of the Fair demonstrated a lot of interest to the stand of Samara region. In particular, Anton Sergeev, the vice-consul of Russian general consulate noted that the participation in such events is essential for the Russian regions to promote their major investment projects.

In the course of work of China Hi-Tech Fair, the representatives of Samara region delegation had a meeting with the Sergei Sorokin, the consultant to the Trade Representation of Russia in China (Beijing), as well as with the representatives of the Ministry of science and education of RF, presenting to them the information on the priority directions of development of Samara region and Togliatti.

The participants highly appreciated the delegations participation in the Fair, noting that such events are essential for the international business life. Participation of Samara region at China Hi-Tech Fair should serve as example for other Russian regions. In a conclusion of the meeting, the Parties agreed to further develop relations for support and promotion of the principal investment projects of the region: Hi-Tech Park Zhiguli Valley and Special Economic Zone of Togliatti and establishment of liaisons with hi-tech Chinese companies.

The event agenda also included the meetings with the representatives of Chinese industrial enterprises manufacturing electronics, telecommunication and training equipment.

At the same time with the Fair, the city of Shenzhen also hosted an international Forum devoted to the establishment of world-class industrial parks. The Forum initiator was the Government of Shenzhen and the Association of R&D and industrial parks of China. The Forum participants included the representatives from USA, Ireland, Belgium, France, and Israel, as well as the top managers of the leading innovation centers and parks of China.

In March 2012, the Agreement of cooperation was signed between Hi-Tech Park Zhiguli Valley and the company of HUAWEI. To reinforce the partnership relations, the delegation of samara region visited the companys headquarters. In the course of the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the companys achievements and its evolutional development from a start-up to a modern global organization with annual sales over 35 billion USD and overall number of employees exceeding 110 thousand people around the world. The representatives of Samara region delegation examined the corporate industrial parks infrastructure, visited the exhibition center and residential area.
